Memos from Life welcomes Rebecah (Beki) Propst, author of Absent Memories. Beki started having seizures at age 40 which were finally controlled at age 47. As a result, Beki has no memory of the first 47 years of her life. Beki is living proof that people who have epilepsy or memory loss - things that others consider to be disabilities - are disabled only to the extent they believe they are.
Even though she has faced challenges others cannot fully understand, she never considered herself to be disabled. She couldn’t know what she was missing, so she simply accepted her life as a series of challenges. She was compelled to develop in nine years strengths that might take decades—or even a lifetime—for others to acquire. She is one person who definitely understands the famous quote: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
